THE northbound carriageway of the A19 was closed on Tuesday morning after an accident involving several vehicles.
The incident happened between A1046 Haverton Hill Road (Portrack Interchange) and A1027 (Norton Interchange).
The accident led to long tailbacks on nearby roads, with traffic delays in Thornaby and along the A66 as far back as Eaglescliffe.
All lanes were later reopened.
