CCTV footage has captured a courier tossing a £50 parcel over a garden fence instead of knocking on the door.
Kaitlin Mitchinson, from Chester-le-Street was waiting at home for her parcel after buying makeup from an online retailer.
The 19-year-old said: “Instead of coming to the door or checking the gate it’s been thrown 20 feet away from the top of the garden.
“I was waiting for the delivery and I got a message to say it had been posted through the letter box. I checked and it wasn’t there so I looked outside because it’s happened before.”
The parcel, which contained an eye shadow palette and several glass bottles, was delivered at around 1.30pm on Thursday, January 26 by a Hermes courier.
The delivery was captured by CCTV, which shows the courier throwing the small package the full length of the garden.
She added: “It’s happened once before so I was kind of expecting it but I didn’t think it would be so extreme.
“I’m surprised it didn’t smash. The eye shadow alone was £41 and if that had broken it would have been a complete waste of money.”
A Hermes spokesperson said: “This behaviour is completely unacceptable and we can confirm the courier in the video no longer delivers parcels for Hermes.
"We would like to apologise to Ms Mitchinson unreservedly.”
