A TEN-YEAR-OLD boy was taken to hospital after being struck by a bus.
It happened on Monday morning, just before 9am in Newcastle city centre.
Police were called following the incident on New Bridge Street and are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: “The collision happened near the university building and the child has been taken to hospital to be checked over for, believed, non-serious injuries.”
The road was closed and re-opened at 9.30am.
