A TEENAGER has been praised after finding and then delivering a parcel he discovered in the street.

The incident happened in the Oakerside area of Peterlee, County Durham.

It was posted by a delivery driver and reported on the IncidentsonTeessideandCountyDurham Facebook page.

"Just had a bit of my faith restored in the youth of today," the driver reported.

"I'm delivering up in the Oakerside area of Peterlee and a kid has come up to me on a bike with a big brown parcel under his arm and asked me if I'd dropped the parcel out of my van as he'd found it up the road.

"I haven't, as it was a DPD parcel. He then asked me where the particular house was that it belonged to, then rode to the house to deliver it for them."

The driver said he though the teenager's efforts should be recorded.

"So, to the kid about 14 to 15 years old in the blue coat riding a bike up Oakerside, well done to you!" he wrote.

"And if his parents are reading then congrats on your well mannered kid with morals that a lot of kids unfortunately lack these days.

"A lot of negativity gets posted on here, so it's nice to share a bit of positivity sometimes."
