RUNNERS dedicated to raising funds for a North-East charity have handed over another cash instalment worth hundreds of pounds.
Darlington’s Quakers Running Club pledged to support the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) with a year of fundraising throughout 2016.
The club’s latest charitable effort in honour of the service that relies on donations found £285 for GNAAS after an entertaining quiz night in November.
The Quakers also raised £60 for Children in Need on the night on top of hundreds of pounds raised previously this year through ceilidhs and charity evenings.
A Quakers Running Club spokesman said: “Quakers Running Club in Darlington had the pleasure, this week, of handing over another cheque to our chosen charity of the year, the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
“Added to the money raised earlier in the year from the ceilidh, it brings the total donated to the charity so far this year to £695.”
