RUNNERS of all ages got into the festive spirit with a run around the grounds of an historic attraction.
The annual Santa Fun Run, organised by Ryedale Special Families, saw families put on their Santa Claus suits for the early winter dash at Castle Howard.
The runs were split into three categories again this year, including the Santa’s Elves for ages four to eight, Santa’s Little Helpers for ages nine to 13, and a main adult fun run. The youngest runners took part in a 450-yard dash.
The distance was doubled for nine to 13-year-olds, while adults ran 1.5 miles around the grounds of the stately home near Malton.
The event raises funds for Malton-based charity Ryedale Special Families and was started by Cllr Bob Gardiner, chair of Ryedale District Council.
