DRIVERS faced long delays on the A1(M) after police were forced to shut the road in both directions after a man threatened to jump from a bridge overlooking the motorway.
The incident occured near the Burtee junction and the road was closed between junction 58 for the A68 (Burtree) and junction 57 for the A66.
The man was safely talked down by officers and the reopened.
Motorists were warned to expect some delays as the queues cleared.
