POLICE in Bishop Auckland have released pictures of a man and a woman who they believe were involved in a theft from a high street store earlier this year.

At about 10.15am on Monday, April 23, the couple entered Peacocks clothes store, in Bishop Auckland.

The woman removed clothes from their hangers and dropped them on the floor while the man followed her round, picking them up and putting them in a carrier bag.

They then left the store, chased by staff, but escaped.

The woman is described as white in her early 20s with a slim build. She was 5ft 7in, with long, dark hair which was in a high ponytail. She was wearing a white puffa-style jacket, with a fur-trimmed hood and dark trousers. She also wore thick dark-frame glasses.

The man is white, in his early 20s, with a slim build. He is about 5ft 4in and was wearing white tracksuit bottoms, white T- shirt and a black Adidas tracksuit top, with grey stripes on the sleeve.
