A 29-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and motoring offences after an incident in Hartlepool.
Police were called to Maxwell Road just before 4.15am on Tuesday.
A 21-year-old man was found with serious injuries to both legs. He was taken to James Cook University Hospital.
Four people were arrested in connection with the alleged incident – three men aged 29, 47 and 27 and a 23-year-old woman.
The 29-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, driving a motor vehicle with no license and driving a motor vehicle with no insurance.
The 23-year-old woman and the 27 and 47-year-old man have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
