STUDENTS held Darlington’s MP to account on a range of serious issues recently.
During a visit to Darlington College, Jenny Chapman was quizzed by uniformed services students.
The first and second year students questioned the MP on subjects including Brexit, international defence policy and military budget cuts.
Mrs Chapman said the students were well informed on current affairs, adding: “They were a really terrific group of students who had done their homework.
“It was great to see so many girls in the group and they all clearly have great futures ahead of them.”
Tutor Gary Paxton said students had an interest in local and national politics and were keen to learn about events that would affect their lives and futures.
He said: “It was a great visit and they worked hard on their questions to make sure they got most out of the visit.”
