THE life of a four-year-old girl who died at her home was celebrated in her home town of Thornaby on Saturday.
Disney-themed balloons were released on the Harold Wilson Recreation Field near the home of Jessica Azadi and there was later a candle-lit vigil.
The much-loved child died suddenly in an accident at her home last week and the people of the town have wanted to show solidarity with the family.
About £4,300 has been raised on two fundraising websites to help Jessica's parents, Ben and Natasha who will hold a funeral for Jessica at St Mark’s Church in Thornaby from 1pm on Thursday, September 22, with mourners asked to wear bright colours
A statement from the family was released last week which said paid tribute to Jessica. The family said: "Jessica was our life and was the most unique person anyone had ever met. Her warmth, her humour and her personality lit up every room she entered within minutes."
A Facebook page, Remembering Jessica Jean Azadi, has been set up in her memory. Those that knew her are invited to upload photos and videos of Jessica to the page.
Police said there was nothing at all suspicious about the death.
