CHIVALRY fans have the chance to be an apprentice to an Elizabethan sword master this weekend.
Helmsley Castle is hosting a Tudor knight school tomorrow and Sunday.
Representatives from the Royal Armouries will highlight aspects of Tudor life, including presentations of Elizabethan swordsmanship. Visitors can sign up for a 30-minute knight school - sessions in how to wield a 16th Century sword.
"Elizabethan swordsmanship is commonly regarded to be one of the most skilled in all of history," said English Heritage's regional events manager Jon Hogan.
Admission is £5 for adults, £4 for concessions and £3 for children. A family ticket, for two adults and up to three children, is £13. There is no admission charge for English Heritage members.
The castle opens from 10am to 6pm, with the event taking place from 11am to 4pm. For more details, call 01439-77044.
