PLANS to ferry visitors to a new tourist attraction in environmentally-friendly vehicles will be discussed at a public meeting later this month.
The meeting will look at a proposal to provide transport between Richmond town centre and the restored station.
The scheme is being led by Richmond Swale Valley Community Initiative and the Richmondshire Building Preservation Trust.
Five routes and five vehicles have been investigated by consultants Transport for Leisure.
The consultants' findings will be presented at the meeting.
Colin Grant, from the community initiative, said: "We are trying to get people thinking about how visitors and residents are going to be transported around the town.
"The purpose of the meeting will be for residents to have their say on the options before any decisions are made."
Mr Grant said the vehicle options ranged from a people carrier to a road train and the vehicle would run on a green fuel, such as LPG. Richmond's old railway station is due to be opened as a community and business centre in the autumn.
It is hoped the transport link will be in place for summer next year.
The meeting will take place at the King's Head Hotel, in Richmond, on Tuesday, June 26, at 7pm.
