A PRIMARY school has been rated outstanding in every area of its Ofsted assessment.
Dishforth CE Primary School is one of three schools in the area, with Otley Street Nursery, Skipton, and Marwood Primary School, in Great Ayton, to be rated as outstanding in all 27 categories of the inspection.
Inspectors praised the exceptional quality of the teaching, the good manners and politeness of the children and the excellent progress made by all pupils.
They said the key to much of the school's success is rooted in its strength as a small community where staff and pupils know one another extremely well.
The report paid tribute to the family atmosphere of the school, noting that the pupils' outstanding personal development and well-being were reflected in their exemplary behaviour, respect for those around them and the pride they take in achieving. Teachers and support staff were praised for the quality of care, support and guidance the children received.
Headteacher Nigel Ashley said the school was thrilled by such an overwhelming vote of confidence.
"I'm absolutely delighted that the dedication and commitment that all the staff give to the school has been recognised in this report. They all thoroughly deserve the praise. I'm extremely proud of our children, and it's a tribute to them that the inspectors could see the respect they have for one another and the excellent relationship that they have with both teachers and support staff.
"We work hard at identifying the individual potential of every child."
