A MUSEUM about the Venerable Bede, which closed earlier this year due to funding problems, is to reopen with a new name in autumn.
Bede's World, which is dedicated to the life and work of the saint and scholar, will reopen in October as Jarrow Hall - Anglo Saxon Farm, Village and Bede Museum.
It closed in February with trustees blaming Government cuts and now be run by the charity Groundwork South Tyneside and Newcastle.
Andrew Watts, the charity's executive director, said: "This is a new dawn for this well-known, well-loved and highly important history centre."
