AN outlet shopping centre is running a series of nature workshops for younger visitors during the remainder of the summer holiday.

The free workshops take place at Dalton Park, Murton, County Durham, each Thursday, up to and including September 1, from 11am to 4pm.

It gives youngsters a chance to meet the centre’s cuddly mascot Dalton, in his special den, and learn about how he cares for animals and the environment.

All those attending will receive a goody bag containing lots of ‘back to school’ essentials.

Special ‘I Met Dalton’ cards can be picked up at the centre’s customer services desk, while the den can be found in the garden area, next to the Marks and Spencer outlet.

Children attending must be accompanied by an adult.

The workshop programme includes bird boxes, today, kite making, on August 18, tree art, on August 25, while the September 1 event is titled Mix it up Crafts.
