A WOMAN suffered serious chest injuries when an Mazda MX5 was in a collision with a van on the North York Moors.
Investigations are ongoing into the cause of the collision which happened on the A169, north of RAF Fylingdales, on Thursday morning.
The driver of the Mazda, a woman in her fifties, was taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, with chest and abdominal injuries.
The occupants of the van suffered minor injuries in the collision.
The road was closed for much of the morning and was reopened at 11.20am after the vehicles involved were recovered.
