AN author has released a children’s book based on a North-East railway museum.
Carol Dean penned Beware Charlie Dryden after working closely with Locomotion: The National Railway Museum, in Shildon, County Durham, to gain the research knowledge she needed to write the book.
Ms Dean said the museum was one of her favourite places to visit with her grandchildren and expressed her gratitude to museum staff for their support.
She said: “Jeff and John, the two volunteers, explained their work so brilliantly that I could only admire the extensive work that they do.
“Jo and Ian, the museum assistants, gave me the grand tour of the museum and I learnt so much which all went into the book.
“I couldn’t have done it without any of them.”
Ms Dean is signing and selling copies of Beware Charlie Dryden, at the museum, on Wednesday, August 10.
