FORMER Richmond MP William Hague is to be awarded an honorary degree for his contribution to society.
Now Lord Hague of Richmond, he is to be honoured by the University of York along with a number of figures from the world of arts, entertainment, politics and science.
They include, among others, the former Archbishop of Canterbury, Lord Rowan Williams; Bridget Jones creator Helen Fielding; ballerina Marguerite Porter and actress Helen McCrory.
They will receive honorary doctorates at the university’s graduation ceremonies on July 13, 14 and 15.
