A CARE assistant literally took the plunge to raise cash to help research and support for those with dementia.
Jemma Cropper became a bungee-jumping daredevil and took a 300ft leap of faith to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Jemma is a care assistant at the Hambleton Grange Care Home in Thirsk who was moved by the courage shown by those facing the devastating disease.
And following her big jump, at Tatton Park, Manchester, she said: “I was so nervous before I did it, I couldn’t believe I put myself up for it.
“The only thing that persuaded me to make that final leap was the thought of the residents I look after.
“I know the money I have raised will go towards vital research into delaying the onset of dementia and potentially even help find future cures.
“Most importantly, I hope it helps to raise awareness of the disease in the Thirsk community.”
So far Jenna has raised a total of £628. To donate visit justgiving.com/jemma-cropper.
