A COW has been killed after being shot through the eye, in what police have described as a “shocking act of cruelty”.
The animal was shot in a field in Dunnington, near York, at about 11pm on Saturday (May 14), causing fatal injuries.
Officers from York police and North Yorkshire Police's Rural Taskforce are investigating the incident.
PC Dan Kirven, of York police, said: "I would like the public and members of the local farming community to come to me or the Rural Taskforce with any information they may have that could assist us with our enquiries."
