THE A64 eastbound near Malton has been re-opened following a serious crash today (Thursday, May 5).
At least one person was injured in the crash, which happened on the eastbound carriageway near the Old Malton roundabout, between the B1248 and the A169, at around 11.20am.
Police and fire services attended the scene, with fire crews using cutting equipment to free the person, who had been trapped in their car with suspected pelvic injuries.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance helicopter also attended.
Police closed the eastbound carriageway and one lane of the westbound carriageway, before re-opening one of the eastbound lanes at around 1.15pm.
The road was re-opened fully around two hours later, at 3.20pm.
Traffic queues were estimated by Highways England to be around 1.5 miles long.
