THE road outside Middlesbrough's James Cook University Hospital was partially closed on Monday evening after an accident.
The incident happened around 7pm.
There were four police cars and an ambulance at the scene on Marton Road, which is close to the pub and hotel on the opposite side of the road.
An eye-witness said the accident appeared to involve a silver or grey saloon car which had extensive damage to its windscreen.
