A BODY has been found in the River Tees at Stockton.
Police were called to the Watersports Centre, close to the Tees Barrage, at about 8am on Wednesday morning.
While no formal identification has taken place, the family of David Welsh, who has been missing since before Christmas, have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained police liaison officers.
The 61-year-old grandfather was last seen on CCTV walking past the Castlegate Shopping Centre car park on Tower Street, Stockton, on the evening of Tuesday, December 8, in the direction of the riverside road.
Mr Welsh’s daughters and his partner have previously made direct appeals for him to get in touch with them.
