RESIDENTS are being encouraged to pick the design for a colourful new shelter planned for Saltburn seafront.
A seafront shelter was previously located on the Lower Promenade, but was damaged beyond repair in the storms of December 2013 and was subsequently removed.
The project comes as part of Redcar and Cleveland Council’s Public Realm Programme, which aims to improve and maintain public spaces across the borough.
Cllr Dale Quigley, cabinet member for economic growth, said: “This is a great opportunity for our residents and visitors to give their feedback on the shelter designs, which are all different and interesting choices.
“We value the views of local people and we encourage as many as possible to let us know which one they would like to see on Saltburn’s beautiful seafront.”
The five designs will be displayed in Saltburn Library on Windsor Road until Saturday, February 6. The library is closed Sunday and Tuesday mornings.
Consultation sheets will be available for the public to give their opinions and thoughts to help shape the final design of the new shelter.
Alternatively, you can access the plans and fill in an online survey by following: www.redcar-cleveland.gov.uk/SaltburnShelter
It is hoped the new shelter will be in place for this summer.
