A CHILD sex abuser who also took photographs of naked children and downloaded internet child porn was jailed for four years yesterday.
Clifford Edward Kirkham's involvement with child pornography was discovered on his computer after he was arrested for sex offences against a child.
David Brooke, prosecuting, told Teesside Crown Court that most of the images had been overwritten, but a police expert provided a list of child porn sites that the 56-year-old had visited,
The child told relatives that Kirkham had committed repeated sexual abuses, despite the youngster telling him to stop.
Mr Brooke said: "The child pornography matters came to light two to three months ago.
"This is the nature and context of his behaviour. We would say this was an aggravating feature that at the same time he appeared to be taking photographs."
Kirkham, of Diamond Street, Middlesbrough, was also banned for life from having contact with children after he pleaded guilty to four specimen charges of sexual assault of a child under 16 between January 2005 and October 2005.
He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
