A FORMER priest has appeared at court charged with indecently assaulting a child.
Bernard Traynor is alleged to have committed the offence while serving as a priest in Darlington in the 1970s.
Mr Traynor, 62, of Acklington, Northumberland, did not enter a plea when he appeared before magistrates in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, today (Wednesday, September 2).
The case was committed to Teesside Crown Court on Wednesday, September 16.
Mr Traynor received unconditional bail.
