THE songs of musical legends Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse rung through the streets of a North-East town this weekend.
Darlington’s four-day summer market ended on a musical high as a free tribute act concert filled the market square.
The show, supported by Heart Radio and sponsored by Arriva, drew huge crowds and paid homage to a range of artists, including Freddie Mercury, Katy Perry, Lady GaGa, Pink, Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse and Take That.
The event closed the annual summer markets event, which celebrated the 70th anniversary of VJ Day with a range of themed activities, as well as children’s entertainment and fairground rides.
Throughout the weekend, visitors could also take advantage of a range of market stalls offering a host of goods, including local produce and exotic delicacies.
