POLICE are appealing for information after the home of a man in his 90s was burgled in broad daylight in Barnard Castle on Saturday (July 25).
Burglars broke into the property in the Fairfield Road area of the town through a rear window between 4.15pm and 4.35pm.
They were disturbed by family members arriving at the property.
Durham Police said two men have been arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail pending further inquiries.
The investigation into the burglary is ongoing, and officers want to speak to anyone living in Montalbo, Fairfield or Harmire roads in Barnard Castle who has private CCTV.
Anyone with information about who may have committed the break-in is also asked to come forward and contact Acting Detective Sergeant Gareth Hodgson at Bishop Auckland CID on the non-emergency number 101.
