AN ONLINE donation page has been set up to support North-East jockey Connor Beasley in his recovery from the multiple injuries suffered in a nasty fall.
Beasley, who hails from Spennymoor and is one of the stable jockeys at Michael Dods' Denton Hall yard, near Darlington, sustained the injury in a fall at Wolverhampton.
Owners with Dods have joined forces to create a crowdfunding page on fundraising site JustGiving to supplementing the financial aid the rider receives from the Injured Jockeys Fund.
Owner Paul Gaffney, whose Cosyseal Racing company sponsored Beasley in his apprentice days, said: "He has a very promising career ahead of him and, along with the Injured Jockeys Fund, we want to remove the financial worry and allow him to focus on his rehabilitation and recovery.”
Beasley, 20, has been in the Royal Stoke University Hospital since Tuesday, July 7 when he was admitted with a fractured skull and spine, and a damaged neck.
Anyone wishing to make a donation can do so by visiting https://crowdfunding.justgiving.com/connor-beasley.
