PATIENTS recovering from surgery have been taking advantage of the fine weather to boost their return to health.
The Walking for Health groups, which include many people who have recently resumed physical exercise following an operation, are enjoying the spring sunshine during walks around Crook and Bishop Auckland.
The walks, organised by Wear Valley District Council, last bet-ween 30 and 45 minutes and are suitable for all levels of fitness.
A council spokeswoman said: "The recent sunshine has put a spring in the step of the walkers."
The walkers meet at Glenholme Leisure Complex, in Crook, on Tuesdays, at 11am, and Woodhouse Close Leisure Complex, in Bishop Auckland, on Thursdays, at 10am.
For more information on these or other Walking for Health walks, call Lynn Wilson on 01388-765555.
