FORMER England star Paul Gascoigne has spoken to The Northern Echo about his new film, the press and football.

In an interview with reporter Gavin Havery, the 48-year-old Italia ’90 hero told of his battle with alcoholism and ongoing frustration with media intrusion into his life.

It coincides with the release of feature length documentary about the Gateshead-born midfielder’s career – Gascoigne – which is in cinemas from Friday and on DVD from Monday.
