A RECORD number of affordable homes were created in Hambleton in the last 12 months – 27 new units in two communities.
Twenty were created at Linton-on-Ouse by the district council and Broadacres housing association and another seven at Dalton by Whitfield Homes and Together Housing.
"Many people in the Hambleton area find it difficult to get on to the housing ladder due to the high price of houses within the district,” said local cabinet member Cllr Brian Phillips.
“The council is striving to close the availability gap and these two excellent schemes are helping do that at the present time.
“The work of the Rural Housing Enabler programme is proving very beneficial in locating Exception Sites doe development in the areas of greatest need.”
