A MAN had to be treated in hospital after he was hit by a car that failed to stop.
The 22-year-old victim had been enjoying a night out in Northallerton when the incident happened at about 3.20am last Sunday.
He was hit by a silver Peugeot 206 on the High Street and was taken by ambulance to the Friarage Hospital where he was treated for a neck injury.
“Thankfully the victim’s injuries were minor, however, they could have been far more serious,” said PC Gavin Dobson.
He added: “We are urging anyone who saw the collision to get in touch, in particular, we are appealing for information about the registration number of the car and who was driving the vehicle at the time of the collision.
"It would also be beneficial for the driver of the vehicle to get in touch with the police to report their involvement and assist with our enquiries.”
