A TWO-WEEK beer festival is to be held in a Derwentside pub.

Ales from across Europe will be on offer at The Company Row, in Victoria Road, Consett.

The range will include six award-winners, seven beers not brewed before this year, fruit, coriander, ginger and organic beers, as well as foreign beers.

Customers will be able to enjoy the beers in special third-of-a-pint glasses, which will be available in the pub for the first time.

In addition, to celebrate the first day of the festival, which falls on St George's Day, the pub will serve Manns St George and the Dragon Ale from Wiltshire.

Landlord Steven Lewis said: "The festival will give people the opportunity to enjoy a superb selection of beers, which are not normally available in the area.

"Customers will also be able to buy the beers, using our third-of-a-pint glasses, which I believe will be popular."

Tasting notes on all of the beers will be available in the pub.

The festival will run from Monday, April 23, until Monday, May 7 inclusive, with all beers priced £1.39 a pint.
