Under11's 0 - 4 Brotton M.o.m:Mackis Vakhos Allstars were away at Brotton Juniors for this summery clash at the seaside.

The stars started very brightly with some quality passing and movement down the right side of play. Josh Ward was unlucky not to score but scuffed his shot after getting past his marker. Brotton poured forward however, and scored a goal against the run of play (1-0). Brotton broke again shortly after the goal but a great tackle from defender Mathew Brown cleared the danger. The Brotton team appeared to have a clutch of Amazons' in their squad, but our boys worked well, not being phased by Brottons considerable physical presence. Time and again our entire team battled, harried and tried hard for every ball, with some solid performances from Luke Kershaw, Mackis Vakhos, and Zac Fluen to name but a few. Robert West had a busy time up front as did Josh Ward and Niall Hanratty.

Half time saw the score at 1-0 to Brotton.

Allstars came out in a similar vein to the first half with Zac Fluen making an inspired run all the way from defence to the Brotton back line forcing an Allstars throw. The resulting throw was latched onto by Robert West who knocked the ball into the goalmouth where Brotton somehow managed to get the ball away. Brotton broke forward with some good play between two strikers to make the score 2-0. Our heads were still up but sustained Brotton pressure paid off with a cracking shot over keeper Sean Browns head to make it 3-0. The stars were still battling for every ball, James Oliver battling on the left attack trying to get the ball over for the forwards. With almost the last kick of the game however a strong strike from Brottons no8 saw the ball take a wicked bounce into the back of the net to make the final score 4-0 to Brotton.

Considering how many goals Brotton have scored this season and their position in the league, Allstars did very well indeed today! The score does not reflect the battling performance of the entire team!

Well done lads!!!
