PEOPLE are being urged to volunteer to help a national heart charity's fundraising efforts in County Durham.
The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is on the look-out for people from all walks of life to perform a variety of tasks to bring in money for research into heart disease.
Fundraising and volunteer manager Fiona Turner said: "Most people know someone affected by heart disease, and by joining the team of BHF volunteers you can help the charity really make a difference.
"Without help from local volunteers, the BHF would not be able to continue funding lifesaving research, education and care."
The charity is looking for people to work in its charity shops, as sales assistants, to prepare goods for sale, and people with special knowledge to help sort bric-a-brac, books, music or accessories.
The charity is also seeking volunteer collectors, people to talk to schools and public speakers.
For information on volunteering opportunities in shops, visit your local BHF shop or call 0870-120-4141.
Anyone interested in any of the community roles can call 01623-624 558.
