THREE men have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder following a drive-by shooting.

The men, aged 31, 30 and 29, have been taken to Middlesbrough Police Station where they will be questioned by police later today.

Armed police were called to the house on Harlech Road, in Grangetown, near Middlesbrough, at about 11pm on Monday after reports a firearm had been discharged.

After scouring CCTV footage of the area and speaking to local residents, police said two males, their faces covered with balaclavas and driving off-road motorbikes fired shots before driving off. No one was hurt in the incident.

Forensic teams have recovered wadding and pellets from the front of the property.

Detective Chief Inspector Amanda Oliver said: "We need people to come forward and tell us what they know. We also urgently need to bring any illegally held firearms off our streets.

"My message to those responsible is this - give yourselves up. Our investigations will continue, and we will bring you to justice."

Anyone with information is asked to call Redcar and Cleveland CID on 01642-302626 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.
