ALBERT Nugent has been re-elected as the leader of Durham County Council following a vote by Labour party members at County Hall this morning.
Councillor Nugent, who represents the Deneside ward in Seaham, had faced a challenge from three other councillors for the leadership, but held onto the post he won 12 months ago from former leader Ken Manton. Councillor Clive Robson, a local government officer who represents Consett North on the Labour controlled authority, was elected as deputy leader.
