OPPONENTS could be forgiven for thinking they are seeing double when Kim and Nat Wild take to the football pitch.

The girls, who both play for the Sunderland AFC Centre of Excellence girls under-16 team, are identical twins and play together in defence.

Last month, they helped their team beat Newcastle United under-16s 10-0 at their Houghton-le-Spring home ground.

The girls, who both go to Bishop Barrington School Sports With Mathematics College, in Bishop Auckland, also play for South Durham Royals.

The pair dream of representing their country.

"It would be great if we could both play for England," said Nat.

On Saturday, the girls and their team-mates will take part in a presentation at the Stadium of Light when the Black Cats play against Queen's Park Rangers.

Kim is a fan of Newcastle United, while Nat supports Manchester United.

They inherited their love of football from their father, Kevin, who played for Middlesbrough schoolboys and now turns out for Ferryhill over-40s team.
