THOUSANDS of model rail enthusiasts flocked to an annual show during the Easter weekend.

The York Model Railway Show, now in its 45th year, took place at York racecourse.

A total of 130 stands featuring 42 working layouts was set up in the Knavesmire stand.

The event is expected to attract more than 8,000 visitors.

One of the largest exhibits was the Hassell Harbour Bridge, which measured 41ft by 15ft and cost £37,000.
