A SEDGEFIELD Borough Council officer has decided to practice what she preaches by investing in a super-green car.
Karin Johnson, Sedgefield Borough Council's sustainable communities team leader, has become the first borough council employee to have a Toyota Prius - a hybrid car that offers fuel efficiency.
The car is the cleanest on the market for carbon dioxide emissions, according to the Government.
It works by combining a conventional petrol engine with a small electric motor.
Mrs Johnson said: "My old car needed replacing and I thought I would go for something that I knew would have really good fuel consumption and fewer exhaust emissions.
