MIDDLESBROUGH'S Children and Family Information Service has gained national recognition for the quality of its service.
The Matrix Quality Standard Accreditation was awarded to Childcare Plus for its services to the public and the way it trains and develops the staff who work there.
The award is a national quality standard for organisations delivering information, advice and guidance services for learning and work.
The service, based at Childcare Plus in the bus station, met the benchmarks set for dealing with the public.
Heather McNeill, head of Early Years Services, said: "Everyone has worked very hard for this and congratulations to the team on their much-deserved award.
"Getting this accreditation proves to all our customers that Middlesbrough has national recognition for the quality of its service and that we are among the best."
