A TEESDALE brass band has been given the rare opportunity of performing in Norway, thanks to a company's donation.
In May, Barnard Castle Band will spend four days playing at venues in Oslo.
The group's Norwegian sister band, the Lillestrom Byorkester, will host the event.
The Norwegians visited last the North-East in 2005 and are expected to join the Barnard Castle band in three concerts, which start in Lillestrom on May 31.
The band received £1,000 from Newton Aycliffe-based PVC Manufacturer Hydro Polymers.
Conductor Gary Hutchinson said: "We are looking forward to the trip and will be flying the flag for the North-East in the home country of Hydro Polymers' parent group."
