A 26-YEAR-OLD man has this morning appeared before magistrates charged with affray, following a stabbing in a busy city street.
Michael Derek Langley, of no fixed abode, was not asked to plead to affray in Durham City on Thursday, when he appeared in Peterlee Magistrates' Court.
Mr Langley was also charged with the theft of golf clubs on March 26.
He was remanded in custody until Friday.
A man, who is in his 30s, was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham, in Durham City, with stab and slash wounds following the incident on Thursday.
He was today still recovering in hospital after undergoing surgery to remove his spleen.
