A DURHAM school has won a regional business contest.
Durham High School for Girls scooped the North East Best Company award at the Young Enterprise Company Programme south area final last week (Thursday, April 23).
The students set up LuminEssence, a company making and selling gift-wrapped scented candles.
They will now compete in the North East and Cumbria final in June.
Pam Oddy, from the contest, said: “LuminEssence really impressed the judges with their sleek and professional style.
“The awards highlighted how the Young Enterprise Company Programme can inspire young people to become the entrepreneurs of tomorrow and help them develop practical business skills while they are still at school.”
