A DRAG comedian will help a rugby club raise money for Comic Relief this weekend.

Ruby Diamond will provide the evening entertainment at Wensleydale RUFC's Big Red Nose Day, tomorrow.

Family activities will take place throughout the day at the club's ground at Cawkhill Park, outside Leyburn.

The day will start at 11am with a bouncy castle, sumo wrestling and a raffle.

A charity rugby match between Wensleydale RUFC and Mowden Park kicks off at 3pm, followed by live coverage of the England versus Wales RBS Six Nations match.

The evening entertainment starts at 8pm. Admission is £3 at the door, or free for anyone wearing red noses and red ears.

Ruby Diamond will sing pop songs and perform her comedy routine. The drag act will be followed by a disco.

Janie Molyneaux, Wensleydale RUFC club manager, said: "Our Big Red Nose Day will provide fun and entertainment for all family members.

"The local community has been extremely generous enabling us to put on this event and raise much needed funds for Comic Relief."

The event is being supported by local businesses including Scotts JCTV, General Banner Company and Party Poopers.
