PUPILS got the chance to quiz police, prison and council officials about anti-social behaviour yesterday.
Year eight students at St Francis Xavier School, in Richmond, invited guest speakers along for a question and answer session.
The guests included a North Yorkshire Police officer, a warden from Deerbolt young offenders' institution, a community safety partnership officer from Richmondshire District Council, and a youth offending team worker.
The event followed a series of lessons by PC Gary Lewis, North Yorkshire Police's youth action officer in Richmondshire, on ways to tackle anti-social behaviour.
Marie Cooper, head of Year eight, said: "These sessions do make a difference.
"The police and council do listen to suggestions and there have been changes after these debates in the past.
"I'm always staggered at how deep the students' questions are."
Certificates were awarded to the students who thought up the best questions.
