A YOUNG music student entertained the audience at a recent concert in Stockton Parish Church.
Sarah Gardner, 11, performed works by Bach, Chopin and Mozart after receiving an invitation from the church to perform a piano recital as part of its regular lunchtime concerts.
Sarah has won many first prizes at local music festivals, many of which have seen her competing in age categories up to 16 and 18.
She has won the Janet Gorman Hutton Trophy at Stockton Music Festival for the past three years. The prize is awarded to the pianist obtaining the highest total marks in any three solo piano classes.
Sarah, from Stockton, is also a flautist and recently passed grade three with distinction after only ten months.
