AN Olympic swimmer has taken time out from training to visit a local primary school.
Joanne Jackson, from Richmond, visited Le Cateau Primary School, Catterick Garrison, to present a healthy school award.
The school was awarded health school status in December following a visit by assessor Alison Hedley.
The assessor praised the level of organised activities in the playground, including skipping, football, basketball, netball, cricket and music.
Headteacher Grahame Shepherd said: "This award is very important and recognises the hard work of all the staff, working with the children every day to promote healthy lifestyles in all areas of their lives."
